Meet our Digital Trailblazer, Amy VanWagner!

How long have you been working at iFocus?

A little over a year.

Describe what you do.

Sales. Work with all kinds of clients on their marketing needs in the digital space. This will vary from client to client but it always comes down to reaching their goals.

What does a typical workday look like for you?

I love to have in-person meetings with clients. If we aren’t meeting in person, I am making phone calls, working on proposals, brainstorming ideas with Account Managers, and fielding any client issues that may come up.

Do you have any nicknames in the office?

Boo. Haha…that’s just one Account Manager. So nope!

What would your co-workers say is your most distinguishing feature at work?

Hmmmm. Maybe “keeping it real.” I’m pretty matter-of-fact about things.

Briefly talk about one of your all-time favorite iFocus projects you’ve worked on.

Working with Sporting KC on their Scratch & Win promotion was a lot of fun. We created the game and saw it come to life in-stadium during fan appreciation night.

Besides your own work, what iFocus product/service is your favorite? Why?

I personally like social because everyone can relate to it and it gets my clients results.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Free time? What’s that? Ha! Other than being an Uber driver for my three kids who are my world, I work part-time at Orange Theory as a trainer.

What’s your favorite local KC food joint?

Sushi House.

What movie or TV show character do you most identify with?

I’m not a big movie person but I love Chelsea Handler’s humor.

What’s one cool thing that has happened to you recently?

Nothing really – I’m boring.

Describe your ideal weekend getaway.

Sun and sand with nothing to do but relax.

Are you a cat person or a dog person?

DOG for sure!

What celebrity would you most like to have drinks and a conversation with? Why?

Ummm a lot! Justin Timberlake (sexy, funny, talented..duh), Amy Schumer (hilarious)…I’m sure we’d be best friends!

What’s one weird quirk that you have?

My delivery on jokes is horrible. I laugh at my own jokes before I’m even done saying them.

What social network consumes the greatest amount of your free time?

Prob Facebook.

What’s one of your favorite quotes?

“You need to challenge yourself if you want to see change.”

Describe one thing that’s a source of inspiration for you.

My kids. I also am a firm believer in positive thinking. The mind is a very powerful thing – we need to use it wisely.

What’s your favorite part about working at iFocus?

The people! I can always count on a good laugh.

What’s the most important thing you’ve learned from working at iFocus thus far?

OMG a ton! I came into the digital world from traditional media. I had NO knowledge of digital other than display. I still learn something every day and I absolutely love that!
