iFOCUS is hiring a Digital Project Manager to lead our client web builds and one-off projects from kickoff through launch. You’ll keep work moving, scope honest, and clients confident, and you’ll do it with the technical chops to roll up your sleeves and contribute to builds when needed.
You’ll be the primary client contact across these engagements and the internal lead coordinating design, development, content, SEO, paid media, and account leadership. You’ll also directly manage our Associate Web Developer, supporting their work and growth and making sure they have what they need.
About iFOCUS
iFOCUS Marketing & Advertising is a digital-first marketing and advertising agency headquartered in the heart of the Midwest. We aspire to be your trusted architect in the digital-first marketing and advertising landscape, crafting customized strategies that align with each client’s unique business objectives. Our insights drive innovation and inspire audiences, bringing every brand we touch into focus.
We don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach to marketing or operate from checklists. We custom-develop growth plans based on data, pivoting when necessary to deliver results. Because we’re curious and a little restless, we adopt proven new tools and platforms early, so our clients unlock marketing tactics and media that break from tradition.
What You’ll Do
- Lead client web builds and one-off projects from kickoff through launch and retrospective.
- Serve as the primary client contact across the project lifecycle, including status updates, working sessions, approvals, and escalations.
- Define and document scope, timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and budgets with clients and internal teams.
- Coordinate internal teams across web, design, content, SEO, paid media, and account leadership.
- Manage projects that go out to external vendors for web development, creative, content, and other specialized work, including scoping, day-to-day management, and quality oversight.
- Directly manage the Associate Web Developer by assigning work, reviewing output, unblocking issues, and supporting their professional development.
- Contribute light development work on builds when needed, including minor WordPress updates, CMS configuration, and page builder tweaks.
- Lead QA on every deliverable before it goes to the client, including scope match, brand alignment, technical quality, and link and asset checks.
- Identify and proactively escalate risks, timeline pressure, scope creep, and resourcing gaps.
- Use your technical fluency to ask the right questions, translate between client and developer, and unblock the team.
- Maintain project documentation in our project management tools, including briefs, schedules, status reports, and retros.
- Run regular project status meetings, internally and with clients, and follow them with clear, action-oriented notes.
- Improve our project delivery playbook with templates, checklists, and lessons learned over time.
- Other duties as assigned and amended at the discretion of the CMO.
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years of digital project management experience in an agency, in-house digital team, or a mix.
- Demonstrated experience managing web build projects from kickoff through launch.
- Strong client-facing skills, with comfort leading the room with executives and individual contributors alike.
- Technical fluency. You can read a brief, navigate a CMS, understand a developer hand-off, and ask informed questions about scope and complexity.
- Hands-on experience with WordPress, Elementor, and other content management systems, with enough comfort to handle light development work when builds need an extra set of hands.
- Comfort working in project management tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with a knack for translating between client language and team language.
- Strong organization and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects without losing track of details.
- Experience navigating ambiguity, scope changes, and tight timelines.
- Direct people management or mentorship experience.
- Hybrid role based in Overland Park, KS, with a minimum of three days per week in the office.
Bonus Points
- Hands-on familiarity with HTML, CSS, or JavaScript at a level that lets you spot-check work.
- PMP, Scrum, Agile, or related project management certifications.
- Familiarity with web hosting, DNS, and basic web infrastructure.
- Experience working with paid media, SEO, or content teams on integrated campaigns.
What Success Looks Like
- Projects launch on scope, on time, and on budget.
- Clients consistently describe our process as easy to work with.
- The Associate Web Developer is supported, never blocked, and growing under your direction.
- Outside vendors deliver on scope and on schedule because you set the expectations and stay close to the work.
- Internal teams know what’s due, what’s blocked, and what changed without chasing you for answers.
- Our project delivery playbook gets stronger because of the way you work.
